Skill System

Fung Wan Online features a Skills System which will allow you to determine what kind of character you are to build in terms of supporting your overall built. You can choose to be a forger, a brewer, a crafter or a more combat focus character with some other skills.

When creating a new character, you must select 3 skills. Sprinting is given to your PC by default. To possess additional skills, your PC can purchase them from trainers (merchant NPC) from villages at any game levels.

In order to use the skills, either a) right-click on the skill icons in the Skill Window, or b) left-click to transfer the icon to a quick slot. You can also activate the skills by right clicking on the skill icons.

There are 11 skills that you can learn in the game. Each of these skills have their own advantages and it is your choice in how you are to build your character accordingly. Skills do not effect your character’s base attributes or stats.

1. Resuscitate
This skill enables you to resuscitate a fellow fallen player. For every 1 ranking allocated to this skill, a duration of 6 seconds is increased accordingly.

2. Identify item
This skill enables you to identify items found or dropped by creatures. Items found are always ‘Unidentified’. This skill will enable you to identify the items without a cost. Your identify skill must be of the same level as the item in order for the item to be identified.

3. Evaluate opponent
This skill enables you to ‘Evaluate’ your opponents. Similar to the ‘Evaluate’ menu, you will be able to evaluate details stats of your opponent. The higher your evaluate skills, the more details you will be able to evaluate.

4. Stealth/prowl
This skill will enable you to go into ‘prowl’ or ‘invisible’ mode. This will allow you to avoid the hostile creatures from attacking you. The higher your Prowl skill, the higher your chances of evading hostile creatures. You cannot participate in any combats during ‘Prowl’. You can only walk or stand still while in ‘Prowl’ mode. Chi will constantly be used during ‘Prowl’ mode.

5. Detect hidden
This skill will enable you to ‘Detect’ hidden PCs with the ‘Prowl’ skill. Mainly used only in Player Vs Player combats. You will require the same or higher skills to detect another player with the same skills in ‘Prowl’. Chi will constantly be used during ‘Detect’ mode.

6. Pickpocket
This skill will allow you to ‘Pickpocket’ another creature or player. Pick pocking will allow you to steal certain items from creatures and whatever items the other player have in his / her inventory. You can only Pickpocket at a range of 5meters and it will take a duration of 6seconds. Should you be successful, the victim will only realize it after 1minute prior to the pickpocket. Should you fail, the victim will be immediately notified with the pickpocket’s name. The higher your skills, the higher the chances in pick pocketing.

7. Sprinting
This skill will enable you to travel the lands of Fung Wan at a faster pace. The higher your skill in ‘Sprinting’, the faster you can sprint. During ‘Sprinting’, Chi will constantly be used.

8. Weapon Forging

This skill will enable you to forge weapon components into weapons so as to empower them.

For every 21 skills, you will be able to forge up to 2 component weapons
For every 41 skills, you will be able to forge up to 3 components weapons
For every 61 skills, you will be able to forge up to 4 components weapons
For every 81 skills, you will be able to forge up to 5 components weapons

You can purchase weapon components from Blacksmiths or certain weapon sellers.

In order to forge a weapon higher than level 81, you will require more than 81 ranking to the Weapon Forging skill.

There is no 100% success rate in forging of weapons. The higher the components, the more the components, the lower the success rate for a perfect forge.

Power Effects System

Certain powers in Fung Wan features special effects of different types. Some are Offensive type effects while others are Power type effects.

Offensive Effects

• Stun effect

This effect will cause the target to temporary cease all melee and power type attacks. Target however can still resume ‘Running’ or ‘Sprinting’ procedure despite having this effect on self.

Effect status
- Target cannot use melee attacks
- Target cannot use powers

• Slow effect

This effect will cause the target to have a reduction in attacking speed. For example, should your base speed be at 2 – 1 hits per round, it will be reduced to 1 hit per round. Target movement too will be slowed to walking speed and target cannot run or jump when ‘Slowed’

Effect status
- Target’s attacking speed reduces to 1

Effect status
- Target may stop attacking at random
- Target may not be able to activate any powers
- Target may activate ‘Friendly’ powers on opponent instead of self.

Effect status
- Target’s attack rating reduced by 90%
- All ranged attacks reduced to 5meters
- Target is unable to execute any form of powers.

• Berserk Effect

This effect is a special effect. The Berserk effect can act as an offensive or as a friendly kind of effect. More like a two-way effect depending on how a player chooses in using it. By having the berserk effect on self or on a target, it will give a massive increment in attack rating, high increment in damage value, but at a cost of defense rating and the inability of executing powers.

Berserk status
- Target’s attack rating increases by 100%
- Target’s damage increases by 50%
- Target’s defense rating decreases by 25%
- Target is unable to execute any form of powers.

• Paralyze Effect

This effect will cause the target to be ‘Paralyzed’. Having the Paralyze effect, the target will not be able to move at all, target will be stunned thus rendering all attacks useless. Because the target is under the state of Paralyze, target will be more vulnerable to attacks.

Some commonly used term while playing FWO.

AR - Attack Rating. Attack rating enables your character to strike and hit the target more efficiently.

DR - Defense Rating. Defense Rating enables your character to dorge and thus receive less hits.

Resistance - Resistance come in 5 different elements. Fire, Cold, Poison, Lightning and Physical. Different mobs at higher levels uses different kinds of elemental attacks. The higher your resistance to the element, the lesser damage you will receive.

Mobs - What we also know as creatures or enemies. Some come in solo and come attack in a group.

Aggro - Agro as in aggressive mobs. 2 levels in aggressiveness. First being that if you attack one, it may call for backup and thus have 2 to 3 attacking you. Second being that they will attack you upon sight.

LP – Legendary powers. Every stance has it own legendary powers. Legendary powers requires you to have high ranking in your stance.

LA – Legendary Armor. There are some legendary armors obtainable through quests.

KOS – Kill on Sight. A term used by clans if 2 or more clans are at war.

KS – Killing stealing. Try not to kill steal as it will give you a bad reputation.

AOE – Area of attack powers. These powers affect every thing around you on a radius based.

PK – People killing. Some baddies may go around on a killing spree. What is FWO without it?

Hero Points – Hero Points are gained only by means of the war system where 2 clans or guilds declare wars against each other.

Kirin Rare – Rare items dropped mainly by the Fire Kirin or other very powerful special creatures.

Uncommon items – Items found usually by creatures level 50 and higher.

These are just a few to mention. You will get to learn more as you progress through the game by having to communicate with your fellow clan member and new friends.

*Tip: Try to interact more with the NPCs you get to see throughout the world in FWO. You may get some really interesting quests! Some even leading to Legendary items and Legendary powers!

PK system

Fung Wan Online is an Open PK server, where you will receive PK points and penalties should you PK another player. The more PK points you have, the higher the penalties receives on your character.

Should you have the PK tag on your character and should another player PK you, the other player will not suffer any penalties. You however will stand to loose 2% experience points upon death.

Note: You do not gain PK points during a war.

To round this up, expect new and exciting features coming your way soon!
Hope you guys will enjoy your experience here in the world of FWO.

Best of luck!

Cheers!
